Our Environmental and Sustainability Policy

Environmental Sustainability PolicyKD Technical Services recognize that businesses can have a negative impact on our beautiful planet.  We are also committed and enjoy finding ways in which we can reduce out impact on the planet both in our office and with our customers.

In our industry there is a significant amount of waste in the areas of electronic waste and power consumption, both which are our primary areas of focus, however our environmental policy extends deeper than just that.

We strongly encourage all businesses to adopt a policy of sustainability and eco-friendliness.  We only have one planet and we need to preserve it for those who come after us. It doesn’t take much to make a difference, start small, then expand.

Listed below is KD Technical Services Environmental and Sustainability Policy for 2010/2011, which has been last visited on November 22, 2010.

It is our policy to:

  • Comply with all relevant environmental legislation, regulations and requirements.
  • Recycle all paper, plastic and metal waste material appropriately.
  • Reduce the amount of paper printed and used as much as possible.
  • Use recycled envelopes and paper when printing is required.
  • Aim to reduce our heating costs (Electric Heating)
  • Purchasing the most environmentally viable vehicles
  • Using public transit to downtown meetings where no equipment is required
  • Free printer cartridge recycling program for customers
  • Free computer recycling program for customers
  • Using Remote Assistance to help customers where possible to avoid unnecessary use of vehicles
  • Keep electric usage low by
    • Purchasing energy efficient servers
    • Running all computers and electronics with power saving features
    • Using energy efficient lighting
KD Technical Services will review their Environmental Sustainability Policy yearly to ensure that we are both abiding by the policy and adding further items in order for us to run cleaner and greener.
